The season runs from October to May and requires a license, which you can buy online or from the Servicio Nacional de Pesca (the national fisheries service). There are rivers twenty minutes from Coyhaique, like the Simpson, others about 60 km away, like the Ñirehuao, and lodges you can reach only by small plane. The guides live in Coyhaique and know which river is fishing well that week, which is exactly what you won’t find online.
